Non-profit status of Supreme Council
- The Supreme Council for South Africa is a public, non-profit organisation of which the sole object is carrying on one or more public benefit activities and all such activities are carried
on in a non-profit manner and with an altruistic or philanthropic intent. It is registered:
- As a non-profit organisation under registration number 254-481(NPO)
- As a public benefit organisation under registration number 9046006285(PBO)
- In terms of section 18A(1)(a) of the Income Tax Act as a Tax Exempt Organisation
- As a Society with the National Lotteries Commission under registration number 00347
- It has as its aims the continued practice of Regular Freemasonry following on the three (3) Craft Degrees within the framework of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite; and
- The cultivation and strengthening of the mutual bonds between, and in co-operation with, all internal and external Masonic jurisdictions recognized by The Order; and
- The study of the principles of Freemasonry and its historic evolvement; and
- The promotion and application of the principles of Freemasonry with focus on charity.
